
Derek Wolfgramm

Derek Wolfgramm is a retired law enforcement professional with a strong background in public service and human development. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Family Science, with a minor in Psychology, from Utah Valley University, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work. His academic training reflects a deep commitment to understanding individuals, families, and communities, and supporting their well-being.
His clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Derek also incorporates Motivational Interviewing to support clients in resolving ambivalence and building internal motivation for change.
In working with children and families, Derek uses play therapy techniques to create a safe and engaging environment where younger clients can express themselves and process experiences. Across all settings, he emphasizes person-centered therapy, fostering a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Derek is committed to helping individuals develop practical skills, build resilience, and create lasting, positive change in their lives.
Outside of his professional life, Derek values time with his family and is a proud father of four daughters. He enjoys staying active and connected to the outdoors through swimming, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. His personal and professional experiences reflect a balanced commitment to service, family, and lifelong growth.
